Following up, he emphatically stated, "The answer, TRILLIONS AND TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS!" This criticism follows a significant Supreme Court ruling that upheld birthright citizenship and clarified the limits of presidential tariff powers under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).

Additionally, the court dismissed an executive order from Trump that sought to redefine birthright citizenship, specifically addressing the stipulations of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. This amendment asserts that "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States."
Trump's executive order attempted to limit citizenship recognition based on the legal status of a person's parents at the time of birth. Affected individuals would include those whose mothers were unlawfully in the U.S. or had temporary lawful status, without clarification of the father's citizenship or resident status.
